LANDFILL LANDLORDS
Proposition: Cosmetics shouldn’t come packaged in single use plastic.
Client: Flavedo & Albedo
AWARD School 2024 Brief
INSIGHT
Single use plastics take up a huge portion of landfill.
IDEA
Flavedo & Albedo become the landlord of a landfill, and make companies producing cosmetics from single use plastics pay the rent on the large amount of land that their products take up.
EXECUTION
Flavedo & Albedo purchases part ownership of the Woodlawn Landfill in Sydney. Create rental invoices addressed to cosmetic companies that use high amounts of single use plastics in their products, and mail these to them to pay. The owing rental amount is incredibly high to represent the space that their products are taking up in landfill.
The rental invoices will be published as full page ads in major AU newspapers and the companies will be called out in billboards in the vicinity of their head offices.
